Q&A with Account Executive Rae Palmer
In this month’s employee spotlight we get to learn more about one of our Account Executives, Rae Palmer. As an Account Executive at Elevation Marketing, Rae is the go-to person for her clients. From project management to marketing strategy and execution, Rae makes sure her client’s needs are met. Her role can vary from writing a creative brief one day to sitting with the design team to determine the look and feel of a new product the next.
Tell us about a typical day in the life of Rae
A day in my life is action-packed. I get up early in the morning – like 5 a.m. early – and I spend time centering myself. I might be in a yoga class or sitting on my front porch sipping coffee and reading a book or writing in my journal.
Once I arrive at work I catch up on emails, return phone calls, and sit in meetings. In between is when I work with our talented team of strategists and creatives to execute all the important work our clients entrust us with.
I love to cook, so once I get home I’m the one serving up something scrumptious for dinner. After that, it’s all about relaxing with my family.
How did you choose this career path?
This career chose me! I graduated from NAU with my Bachelor’s in Journalism and my Master’s in English and started out as a marketing copywriter and editor.
I continually became more involved in the creative process and began to learn more about marketing. After a few years, I was promoted to Creative Project Manager where I had the opportunity to oversee the whole creative process. As a Marketing Account Executive, I now manage both the creative process and the marketing strategy for my clients.
What have you gained from working at Elevation?
I’m lucky enough to be partnered with some amazing clients, and I have learned so much during my time at Elevation. The thing I love most about partnering with my clients is that I get to learn about so many different businesses and industries. I love the science behind marketing and seeing how different communications resonate with different audiences, so I’ve gained some good experience working on different types of campaigns. The best part is, of course, seeing the results for the clients. It’s so rewarding!
What would people be surprised to learn about you?
I’m an open book, so I’m not sure anyone would be surprised by this, but I love tattoos. I am getting at least one more before the end of the year, and I plan on having a full sleeve one day.
You’re about to perform in a karaoke bar. What song do you pick?
Easy. “Shoop” by Salt ‘n Pepa. I’ve known all the words since it was released when I was in the sixth grade.
What are you most excited about regarding the future of Elevation?
There’s so much to be excited about! The biggest thing to look forward to is all the growth we’ve experienced and have yet to experience. We have hired so many talented and genuinely lovely people, and we have gained some incredible new clients – and we’re still growing! I’m eager to see what the future brings and for the opportunity to help businesses achieve some real results.
